Going ‘Round In Circles…

Remember the cute little removable tree I had planned to make for the little girlies’ room?

I had all of my little colored circles cut, laminated, and re-cut…but the tree trunk just never happened. I finally got tired of seeing these little circles sitting on my counter every day, mocking my failure. So, I decided to go a bit of a different route…

They definitely add a little more color. Ava and Kyra thought they were the coolest thing since…whatever a 2 and 4 year old would consider cool…

The great thing is that this little wall hanging was super easy to make. I used two different sized plates and a cup to draw the circles. After cutting each circle, I had Jason laminate them at the school and then cut them out again. Using a hole punch, each circle was given a little hole and then a piece of hemp rope was tied to the hole. Each circle was tied to a long piece of hemp that stretched across the entire length of the room. Removable wall hangers were used for hanging so that we wouldn’t have to mess with any nail holes when we repaint this room. The best thing about this project is that it can be easily removed and moved to a new location (which we may be doing a couple of times in the next year!) 🙂

You can also customize this idea to fit your child’s room. Do you have a little guy that loves sports? Make each circle into a baseball, basketball, football, etc. Does your little one love animals? String up some animals!

Remember…Be sure to keep the hemp rope out of the hands of little ones! If it’s too close to that crib, it will inevitably end up IN the crib!

If you get a chance to try this project and would like to share your results, head over to the SBH facebook site! We’d love to see your creation!
