Just wanted to stop in and show off our garage sale find of the day! Today we scored this great antique white dresser for only $20.
I think old pieces of furniture like this really add some character to a room. With a little new paint and a worn shabby chic finish, this dresser can be good as new while keeping its antique charm. The big question is where to use it since there are two spots in our house that would be great: the dining area and Ava and Kyra’s bedroom. Our dining room has an awkward little corner that is begging for something to add some interest. This dresser would be a great place to tuck away guest dishes and napkins. However, I was hoping to find something a little taller and longer than this dresser to fill that area. It would also be a wonderful addition to the girls’ white bedroom furniture. We’ll just have to see how it looks in each space.
Be sure to check back tomorrow because we’ll be unveiling our new couch and loveseat that we purchased from a liquidation warehouse. It is a beautiful, thick brown leather and will definitely hold up to Ava and Kyra’s abuse much better than the microfiber material of our current sectional. If you ever have a chance to check out one of these liquidation stores, you can get some major discounts. Some of these stores will set up in an area for a limited amount of time before moving on to the next area. If you can wait until the last couple of days they in your area before making an offer on your furniture, you can grab an even deeper discount. It’s definitely worth the wait! I’m super stoked and can’t wait to share the look!
Has anyone else found a great way to get a worthwhile discount on furniture? Furniture is so expensive now that you almost have no choice but to be a little creative if you’re on a budget. Let us know what has worked for you!
